Public School Services
THE "APPS" PROGRAM (AIDES PLACED IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS)
The APPS program of Monmouth-Ocean Educational Services Commission (MOESC) provides paraprofessional staff to students in public schools who are identified as having unique needs. The APPS program provides the assistance that classified students may require to fully participate in their educational setting. This may be on a one-to-one basis, or in an overall classroom support capacity, with the student's Individual Educational Plan and the classroom setting accounting for the variability of the program.
NURSING
MOESC works with agencies to provide districts with qualified substitute school nurses to cover short- and long-term absences, school trips, and other needs.
RELATED SERVICES
MOESC can offer district related service providers that include Speech-Language Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Behavior Specialists for evaluations and/or services.
CHILD STUDY TEAM
MOESC can provide a single discipline (School Psychologist, LDT-C, Social Worker) and/or full Child Study Team services to meet public school Child Study Team need requests including evaluations, per diem, leave replacements, etc. Child Study Teams are available to perform independent third-party evaluations in cases of dispute between the local district and the parents. Bilingual CST evaluations are also available.
HOME INSTRUCTION
Districts can reach out to MOESC for in-home or virtual instruction when students are homebound for 10 days or more.
