At the Regional Achievement Academy, classified and non-classified students are offered individual and group counseling. Some of the areas we can assist the students with are:
- Individual and Group Counseling with a certified Social Worker
- Substance Abuse Counseling with a certified Social Worker trained in Drug & Alcohol Counseling
- Drug screenings and monitoring
- Behavior interventions and supports provided by a licensed BCBA
- Alternative interim or short-term placements
- Credit recovery
- Educational Adventure Trips
- Academic Trips
Students in the Regional Achievement Academy programs receive an individualized academic program that is both compatible with their local school district and consistent with their interests, abilities and career plans. Positive behavior support is also provided through the incorporation of a school-wide behavior management system and incentive programs. Students may participate in adventure-based educational activities for team building and social skills. Trips include kayaking, mountain biking, fishing, rock climbing, and more. All of our academic, social, and emotional support encompass the development of work habits, self control, discipline, socialization and academic achievement.

Samantha Mancuso
Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified School Social Worker.
Samantha received her undergraduate degree from Ramapo College and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University.
Samantha has been trained in Suicide Prevention, Strength Based Approach, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Intervention and Nurtured Heart Approach.
Samantha has significant experience working with children and adolescents with vastly different diagnoses, and problem areas including, but not limited to, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, self-esteem, behavior management and stress management.
At Regional Achievement Academy, Samantha fosters a comfortable and safe environment for students. She offers an empathetic and welcoming approach that focuses on strengths and supports personal growth.

Jessica Jones
Licensed Social Worker and Certified School Social Worker.
Jessica received her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology from William Paterson University, and her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. Jessica has undergone extensive training in multiple areas, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strength-Based Approach, Suicide Prevention, Crisis Intervention and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Jessica’s experience as a Social Worker has allowed her to work closely with multiple age populations. However, her passion is working with children and adolescents. Jessica has notable experience working with a variety of diagnoses and problem areas, such as substance-use disorders, anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, depression, anger and stress management, and conflict resolution.
While working at Regional Achievement Academy, it is Jessica’s hope to bring empathy and compassion into every encounter with the students and assist them in reaching their full emotional and social potential.
