In accordance with the N.J. Public Law Chapter 192-193, MOESC provides Compensatory
Education, Supplemental Instruction and English As A Second Language instruction
following NJ State guidelines for students enrolled in State approved non-public
schools.
MOESC provides small group instruction for 2,062 students in 112 non-public schools.
Compensatory Education provides instruction in the areas of reading, writing and
math. Supplementary Instruction is provided to a student with a disability classified
as eligible for special education and related services following the individual
services plan in place for the student. English As A Second Language instruction
is provided to eligible students who are identified as limited English proficient.
The student learns to develop proficiency in English language skills in the areas
of speaking, reading and writing.
New Jersey appropriately certified teachers provide the instruction.
Chapter 192 Home Instruction services are available for non-public students. Home
Instruction services are given in lieu of regular classroom instruction to an eligible
student who is enrolled full-time in a non-public school and is unable ot attend
school for a period of at least two weeks or more because of temporary illness or
injury.
