NJ Legislation Relating To Suicide Prevention Education
This act concerns instruction in suicide prevention for public school pupils and teaching staff members and supplementing chapter 6 of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes. It requires State Boards of Education to include two (2) hours of instruction in suicide prevention as part of professional development for public school teaching staff and to revise the Core Curriculum Standards in Comprehensive Health & Physical Education to include suicide prevention instruction in an appropriate place in the curriculum of elementary school, middle school and high school pupils
