MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007 WORKSHOPS

Microsoft Office 2007: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access courses starting with Level 1 (Introductory) to Level 2 (Intermediate) and Level 3 (Advanced). Group-paced classes are taught by a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and Microsoft Certified Application Specialist Instructor (MCASI) in a state-of-the-art computer lab with structured hands-on activities using Microsoft Approved courseware that is included in the class fee.

Courses may be taken to develop business computing skills at any level or to begin acquiring the skills for those who want to pursue Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) certification, a business computing credential highly valued by employers. Each course is held over three classroom sessions.

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Track

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE OUTLOOK 2007: LEVEL 1

    Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Level 1 will develop the essential business skills for using multiple features in Outlook 2007 in the workplace. Students will compose and send email, schedule appointments and meetings, manage contact information and tasks, and use notes.

    Prerequisites: Using a personal computer keyboard and mouse, launching/closing application programs, and some knowledge of navigating the Windows environment to manage files and folders.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE OUTLOOK 2007: LEVEL 2

    Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Level 2 is at the intermediate level. Students will customize the environment, Calendar, and mail messages through component options to meet specific business needs as well as track, share, assign, and quickly locate various Outlook items with filters and specified criteria in designated and public folders.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Outlook 2007: Level 1 or equivalent knowledge.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE OUTLOOK 2007: LEVEL 3

    Microsoft Office Outlook Level 3 will develop the advanced skills to personalize email, group and organize Outlook items, manage Outlook data files, share and link contacts, save and archive email, create forms and form templates, and work offline and remotely.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Outlook 2007: Level 2 or equivalent knowledge.

Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Track

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL 2007 LEVEL 1

    Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Level 1 is designed to develop the essential business skills for using Excel in the workplace. Students will create, modify, format, and print basic Excel 2007 worksheets; perform calculations; and manage large workbooks.

    Prerequisites: Using a personal computer keyboard and mouse, launching/closing application programs, and ome knowledge of navigating the Windows environment to manage files and folders.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL 2007 LEVEL 2

    Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Level 2 will develop the intermediate skills to customize and enhance Excel 2007 workbooks; calculate with advanced formulas; organize and present business data visually through tables and charts; insert graphics; and analyze data with PivotTables and PivotCharts.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Excel 2007: Level 1 or equivalent knowledge.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL 2007 LEVEL 3

    Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Level 3 will provide the advanced skills to create macros, collaborate with others, audit and analyze worksheet data, incorporate multiple data sources, and import and export data.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Excel 2007: Level 2 or equivalent knowledge.

Microsoft Office Access 2007 Track

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE ACCESS 2007: LEVEL 1

    Microsoft Office Access 2007 Level 1 provides the student with an understanding of basic database concepts by creating and modifying databases and associated objects such as tables, forms, queries, and reports using the Microsoft® Office Access™ 2007 relational database application.

    Prerequisites: Using a personal computer keyboard and mouse, launching/closing application programs, and some knowledge of navigating the Windows environment to manage files and folders.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE ACCESS 2007: LEVEL 2

    Microsoft Office Access 2007 Level 2 presents intermediate operations in Access 2007. Maintaining data integrity; handling complex queries, enhancing forms and reports; and sharing data between Access and other applications are the main course topics.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Access 2007: Level 1 or equivalent knowledge.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE ACCESS 2007: LEVEL 3

    Microsoft Office Access 2007 Level 3 will extend knowledge into some of the more specialized and advanced capabilities of Access 2007 by structuring existing data, writing advanced queries, working with macros, enhancing forms and reports, and maintaining a database.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Access: Level 2 or equivalent knowledge.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE ACCESS 2007: LEVEL 4

    Microsoft Office Access 2007 Level 4 is an advanced course for exchanging Access 2007 data with other applications, automating business processes by using VBA code, and securing and sharing databases in Share Point environments.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Access 2007: Level 3 or equivalent knowledge.

Microsoft Office Word 2007 Track

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD 2007: LEVEL 1

    Microsoft Office Word 2007 Level 1 is designed to develop the essential skills for producing a wide range of business documents in the workplace. Students will develop the skills to create, modify, format, and print basic Word 2007 documents, control page layouts, and enhance their overall impact with tables and graphic elements.

    Prerequisites: Using a personal computer keyboard and mouse, launching/closing application programs, and some knowledge of navigating the Windows environment to manage files and folders.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD 2007: LEVEL 2

    Microsoft Office Word 2007 Level 2 will develop the intermediate skills to produce complex documents in Microsoft Word 2007 by adding components such as customized lists, tables, charts, and graphics. Automating document production and text flow through the effective use of Quick Parts and other Building Blocks, Section Breaks, Macros, Templates, and Mail Merge will be emphasized.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Word 2007: Level 1 or equivalent knowledge.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD 2007: LEVEL 3

    Microsoft Office Word 2007 Level 3 will develop the advanced skills to create, manage, revise, and distribute long documents and forms in Microsoft Word 2007. Repurposing data from other Office programs such as Excel and converting Word content to generate files in other Office applications will be explored in addition to document review and collaboration, version management and security, and applying references, indexes, and reference tables.

    Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Word 2007: Level 2 or equivalent knowledge.

Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 Track

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE POWERPOINT 2007: LEVEL 1

    Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 Level 1 will explore the PowerPoint environment. Students will create a new presentation and then format text on slides to enhance clarity. Adding and modifying graphical objects and structuring slide data with tables and charts to enhance content will be emphasized.

    Prerequisites: Using a personal computer keyboard and mouse, launching/closing application programs, and some knowledge of navigating the Windows environment to manage files and folders.

  • MICROSOFT OFFICE POWERPOINT 2007: LEVEL 2

    Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007: Level 2 will develop proficiency in customizing and enhancing features that will transform PowerPoint 2007 presentations into powerful and dynamic business communications media. Students will implement design templates, various types of diagrams, special effects, custom slide shows, collaboration functionality, and advanced presentation delivery.
